Sapp Bros. is interested in the health and well-being of you and your family. We offer two types of coverage to best suit your situation.
• Full Comprehensive Major Health Care
• Limited Benefit Health Care
Eligibility begins 60 days from employment date with premium deductions starting after 30 days. Sapp Bros. pays half of the premium. Premiums are deducted from each paycheck pre-tax.
This amounts to a considerable savings to you.
Dental & Vision Plan
You may select from two different dental plan options. One covers major dental procedures and one covers basic dental maintenance procedures. Both plans include a limited vision plan at participating eyeglass outlets. Sapp Bros. pays for 10% of the premiums on this insurance. Premiums are deducted from each paycheck pre-tax resulting in significant savings to you.
Our medical insurance plans include a prescription program that allows 90 day prescription fills through a mail-in program at no additional cost.
401(k) Retirement Plan
If you are at least 19 years old, you may participate after completing 400 hours of service in the previous 12 months from hiring date. Your deposits of between 1/2% - 100% of pay qualify you for matching contributions from Sapp Bros.
Employees can contribute a maximum of $10,000 per year and Sapp Bros. matches the employee’s contribution at a 66% rate up to $1000 per year. All employee contributions are pre-tax resulting in a significant savings to you.
What sets us apart from everyone else in this industry is our company wide profit sharing plan. Whether you are in maintenance or in management, as a full time employee, you are eligible for up to 1% of the net profit in your division of Sapp Bros. Truck Stops. This benefit is not guaranteed, it is based on performance, growth, attendance and overall attitude in your responsibilities. You are eligible for this benefit after being with the company for 9 full months as of September 30 and are still employed as of December 15.
We feel an individual who possesses a desire to continue their education, in addition to performing their full time job, shows a commitment to improving themselves and their position with the company. To encourage and reward these individuals, Sapp Bros. offers an Education Assistance benefit. Full time employees may continue their education in a related field and Sapp Bros. may reimburse all or part of the registration and tuition costs. All courses must be pre-approved by your manager. Once the course is completed, submit a certified transcript of grades and your expense receipts. Sapp Bros. will reimburse you for the portion that we pre-approved.
Vacation is a time for you to rest, relax and pursue special interests as well as being an important contributor to the health and vitality of our employees. Sapp Bros. has provided paid vacation as one of the many ways in which we show our appreciation for your loyalty and continued service. After your first anniversary date, you receive 5 days of paid vacation. After your second anniversary date, you receive 10 days of paid vacation and again after January 1 of each year. On January 1 following your fifth anniversary date, you receive 15 days of paid vacation per calendar year.
Employees who work on a holiday will be paid at one and one half
(1-1/2) times their normal hourly rate regardless of the number of hours they work that week. Sapp Bros. provides the following six paid holidays:

Independence Day Christmas Day
As an employee of Sapp Bros. Truck Stops, you are eligible for a $.05 discount per gallon of gasoline or diesel fuel at any of our locations. You are also entitled to purchase store merchandise with a 10% discount. Discounts at our restaurants and fast food entities include discounts of 10% - 50% off meals. Purchases must be for the use of employees, their dependents or as bona fide gifts. All discounts apply on first date of employment.
